Caregivers and intimacy

There are 60 MILLION people in the United States that are the primary caregivers for their spouses. In many of those situations sexual intimacy has become an impossibility for a variety of reasons. Many caregivers suffer from burnout, fatigue, depression, hopelessness, and frustration. Is it fair to expect a spouse to ignore or deny themselves a large part of what makes them human, ie the desire to have the comfort and attentions of another human being? It's a touchy subject, and one I have found no ONE answer to. Every persons experience is uniquely their own. I wish there were a site like 99Flavors.com for caregivers seeking hook-ups or to establish a FWB relationship outside of their marriage. But there isn't, at least none I have found. Caregiving for a disabled partner is an honor and duty that no one should feel is a prison. I know that if I were to become disabled, I would expect my wife to find happiness where she can. It would be selfish of me to expect otherwise. Just my opinion, What's YOURS? Got a story about YOUR experiences?
