Growing up as a in New Jersey, the local paper would have s contest of a picture of an object. You were suppose identify what the object in the photo was. I thought that I would give it a try.

Looks like more of the same as we approach Goundhog day. Only 2 major storms here. The snow has not stayed around long enough to do any cross country skiing. Somewhat tougher this year to do downhill skiing , so really just walking the dogs and doing some hiking in the local county parks on the trails. Good to get outside and get some fresh year.
How are you breaking up your routine? Is it a normal winter for you?

To Fence or Not

So we have added 2 new energetic dogs to the home and in the past I have been successful in getting new dogs to stay primarily in the yard. They are sisters and terriers, so that’s part of the dynamic. They are having a tough time staying in the yard as they play and chase each other expanding their play area outside our yards borders.
Living in a subdivision.
So it would be one of the reasons for the fence.
The other reason is the neighbor one the one side. I have lived here for 30 years and so have they. He likes to blow his leaves into my yard. So to prevent this continuing habit, one idea is to prevent him from this bad habit by erecting a fence. The city and subdivision allows this with permits.
I will be moving forward with this as it will be good for the dogs, they love to run, so it will provide a safe area for them to do that and it will prevent the neighbor from continuing his bad neighbor policy of blowing the leaves in his yard my way instead of picking them up.

Windows down or AC in the summer while driving ?

So I do enjoy having the windows down on a nice day while driving around off the interstate. When I get on the interstate my speed goes up and so do my windows in the Jeep due to the wind noise.
So for the most part, I would say that I am a windows down while driving around. I like the fresh air.
What about you? What do you like? Why?

Hiking/Backpacking

So I have a customer who is a overnight hiker. He has hiked several segments of the Appalachian Trail. My cousins have talked about trying it in the future. So I have been acquiring gear required to hike and do overnight backpacking. I now have the basics, enough to give it a try. Most likely I will do a overnight hike in Western PA to test out my equipment. I am sure there will be other items that will be needed for convenience.
So far I have :
A backpack
Tent
Portable Bruner
Water purification device
Insulated self inflating sleeping bag pad
Sleeping bag
Total weight so far is about 18 pounds .
Have you tried it? Thought about trying it? Experienced and can suggest other items that would be helpful purchase?
