It still has to pass the full FDA yet but the green light has been given for that to happen, and it should sometime today.

I don't expect I'll be rushing off to my doctors office or the local Hospital any time soon to get a shot though. When the roll out starts the first in line will be the elderly, those in nursing homes..etc. and Front line workers ( doctor's, nurse's, medical people. ) At least that's the plan here in Pa. once the vaccine starts being shipped. I think long about the time of my next Doctor's appointment is when the vaccine will be available to me. That'll be in the Spring of 2021. I can wait, like the old guy in Monty Python's Holy Grail... " I feel happy and I'm not ready to go on the cart"

With the roll out in the UK they had some minor problems with allergic reactions to the vaccine. That got me to thinking. Yes, I know the vaccine has been tested, and has been deemed safe. But, I wonder if they have tested it's reaction with other drugs people might be on? As someone who takes three different types of medications on a daily basis, it concerns me. As it is now, with the meds. I'm on I can't take some others because of their adverse reaction to each other. I will have to discuss the issue with my doc, when I get the shot, and it's follow up.

I'm not a worry wart by any means, but when you read or hear about some of the side affects on drugs , you wonder why people are taking them at all? As the side affects can be worse then the illness. In many cases causing more problems that you don't want or need.

Still, a light has appeared at the end of this Covid tunnel. One we all have been looking for for a while now. Even with the vaccine now on it's way we'll still have to be cautious, wear our masks, wash our hands, and social distance The battle with Covid is on going yet.. but now we have something that will help us in the fight with the bug from hell. I know it sucks, and we all just want things to go back to normal, but Normal isn't that far away now. Keep the faith, keep safe and before we know it Covid will be a thing of the past.

Off to shower now.....

I am not getting it. Not now. Not after a few years. Know others who will after a few years. Their reason is different from mine.

Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth.

If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.

as a doctor explained to me medicine is the fine art of giving just enough drugs to fix the problem without killing the subject.
as for the reaction between drugs i would feel better asking a pharmacist.
as for the vaccine for me it is a YES

there is a world of difference between insanity and stupidity

Yup....a light at the end of the tunnel. It gives me pause...tho. Still after years n years of research and $$$ , there is no cure for the common cold...or cancer.....yet they can roll this out in 9 months. hmmmmm

I also worry abt the long term effects...i may not be here...but...will it ruin reproductive systems...will it cause unusual growth of tumours...or organs. My mother who had a miscarriage between myself n brother was advised to take an anti miscarriage drug with me. She didnt...and it was later found to be the cause of webbing in hands n feet. This was in the 50's.

You bring up a good point...about counterindications and interactions with other meds...like grapefruit juice is not to be taken with some drugs.

The other question is....if one of these drugs must be kept under extremely cold temps....and its out for a minute or second longer than it should be...and some person still gets that drug....

I know we need something to be hopeful about...but ~~
