I bought a bee house!
I've been eyeballing it for over a month now.... And finally decided to just do it!! I wonder if it will actually attract any bees.



It's still a work in progress....



But I'm now able to have a relaxing cup of coffee on the balcony in the morning. The best way to start the day.

Neither did i! The literature said that this particular bee pollinated flowers 80-1 in comparison to honey bees.

 I've had them for a couple of years now, I'm really liking them too. I normally put a vining petunia in them, but I chose not to this year because I never get to see the flowers.

My theme is random this year. I'm doing a wide variety of different flowers for a change. I normally have a specific color I stick with.... But this year I just wanted everything. My bee doesn't normally sit there... I put him there for the pic.

I thought so too. It will only house the female bee, apparently. Can't remember the species. But, the female will lay an egg in fall and seal it up until spring.

Love the colorful flowers...and the bees should as well. Hope your little artwork bee is attached to the railing. I don't think his little wings would be useful if he lost his footing and went tumbling off.

I read the directions. This house is designed for a more docile, non stinging type of bee. I don't know that it will attract anything, but it looks kinda cool.
